Notes:
For the most part, the FST is pretty clearly upbeat, but it progresses into something darker that I felt needed some explanations. Starting probably with 11, it's some self-deprecation along with assurance for the audience, and 12 and 13 are of the similar less cheerful inclination. 14 is a mashup of Let's Dance and Sweet Dreams, so it's the idea of "things are rough but no I'm really okay." 15 goes with the "it's tough but I must go on" feeling, whereas 16 expresses the struggling amount of losses Soundwave has suffered. (Rumble in canon, Rodimus in Axiom, and Starscream in Re/Al) 17 is more or less his shared theme with Fortress Maximus, and 18 has everything to do with the time he tried to read SG!Optimus Prime's mind. For the most part, Soundwave is upbeat and cheerful -- but sometimes there are cracks.
I would like to thank Mindy for 9, 17, and 18, ladyofdragons for 11 and 12, and Theo for 8.

*Characters already in the game: Gunmax
Character Information
*Character Name: Sir Soundwave
*Character Canon: Transformers: Shattered Glass
*Age: This is a bit vague how old Soundwave is, but I'm going to assume he's just a few thousand years old. Fairly young in comparison to the other universes of Transformers.
*Race: Cybertronian
*Timeline/Pull Point: Post-Blitzwing Bop
*History: I have no mouth, and yet... I must rock!
*Personality:
Think of it. Think of the monotone, uncharismatic bore that constructs G1 Soundwave's basic personality. Think of his lack of emotion, his determination for superiority, and conquest over the universe alongside his commander.
Got it? Good. Now make him completely opposite in almost every way possible.
There is no bot more laidback, more emotional, nor more relentlessly cheerful than Soundwave. In a way, because of his hopeful outlook, Soundwave can be slightly naive and oblivious to some basic facts, but hell if he can't be creative and quick-witted in his own right. Easygoing and friendly as heck, Soundwave is everyone's friend when it's possible. Despite the harshness of war and circumstances, it is near impossible to keep him upset for long; staying upbeat and keeping up morale is something he deems important to keeping everyone in a good mood and keeping things smooth. Even when things look bleak-- no. Especially when things look bleak, Soundwave believes in going through the impossible and coming out on top. Victory not for himself and not even for just the Decepticons, but for all those who deserve to live in equality and peace.
Because of his intention for said peace, Soundwave does have a strong streak of nobility in him. He is consistently at the ready in order to protect those who need it, to defend the weak, and rescue the helpless. Most of all, Soundwave immediately will have no problem sacrificing himself for a just cause if it's required. For the good of all sentient creatures, Soundwave will discard his own life if that's what it takes. Thus far, he hasn't gotten himself killed yet, which is fairly amazing considering his gung-ho attitude.
Most of the time, Soundwave means well in his actions, but can occasionally be a bit overbearing in his friendliness -- especially when he commits to practicing pranks on the people he cares about most. While his actions are innocent in nature, he can be a bit overbearingly affectionate at times. In that same stream of emotion, he's also a bit of a flirt, especially with the femmes, but it's all in good fun. Most of the time, it's not very serious; to him, it just means everything if he can make people happy.
Deep within, there is also shame that Soundwave carries. However, this emotion is bottled up and glazed over with a layer of humor and optimism. This shame links back to the fact that he could not rescue Rumble from the hands of the evil Autobots. He could also not save Rodimus from his world's Optimus Prime during his time in Axiom Nexus. As such, he can be a bit protective of his friends -- which is saying a lot, since he's already immensely loyal without question.
In summary, you'll never meet someone who is as charismatic and entertaining as this Soundwave.
*Powers/Abilities:
Telepathy - Soundwave is capable of interpreting electrical signals/brain patterns into readable data, therefore essentially reading minds. However, being the case that this is extremely invasive, this is not an ability Soundwave would employ often. As a result, when he sleeps, he tends to dream whatever everyone else around him is currently dreaming within his immediate radius.
The Power of Rock - During his time in Axiom Nexus, Soundwave was experimented on at least once. As a result of Shockwave's fiddling around with him, Soundwave has the ability to burst into song and inspire people positively in order to overcome and achieve something difficult. More or less, he would act like a "muse" to people. This power does come with a price; as a result, Soundwave can "hear" people's rhythms and their music. Over the course of time, if he does not perform music, everything will become louder and he will be incapable of filtering the sound, so it can in turn become stressful for him and his sensors. The more he sings, the more he holds off this "stock" of sound. Essentially, Soundwave is like an "Elite Beat Agent" that comes with a price.
*Inventory:
- Headband
- Illusion Keytar: A purchase made in Axiom Nexus sometime ago, Soundwave received a keytar that displays illusions dependent entirely on Soundwave's emotions. As such, if he is feeling cheerful and is playing his music, he can form cheerful imagery. This instrument, along with his powers of music, can be a glorious rock-filled combo!
*Starting Polarity:
Nexus Prime seems like the best fit for someone like Soundwave!
If AU, how does your character differ from canon?:
To start with, Soundwave is arriving with all of his experiences from Axiom Nexus. This means he's had some... troubled interactions that have forced him to look upon the more serious side of things. Bear in mind, this does not change the fact that Soundwave is determined to have a cheerful outlook and continue to be optimistic as ever. He is still carefree, but he is also more careful. He has been responsible for Magnum's "death", more or less, and he feels very responsible for Rodimus dying as well. He used his telepathy against his world's Optimus Prime, which has left a dark place in his processor. He has been experimented on by Shockwave, and his privacy has been invaded by Ratchet who forced a repair on him. All these events are traumatic in nature, which has allowed Soundwave to step up and become a leader when needed. It is not something he has enjoyed, but it has been necessary. Otherwise, his personality is very unchanged.
He is also arriving with some abilities/upgrades he has gone through as a result of Axiom Nexus, which includes his keytar, his musical abilities, and the face that was forced upon him.
One thing I will also note is that when I initially applied for Soundwave to Axiom Nexus, it was near the beginning of Shattered Glass's lifespan. Which means, at the time, little canon was known and I went with the assumption that this Soundwave, like his G1/IDW incarnation, also had telepathic powers. This is not something that has happened in Shattered Glass yet, so at the time of my applying for him a few years ago, it seemed a reasonable conclusion. I recognize that as of now it's unlikely he has those powers, but since this is a CRAU, I'd like for him to have those abilities still.

*First Person Sample:
DUUUUDE.
Dude, you have gotta be freakin' kidding me! Like, I finally get sent away from that Axiom Nexus place and then bam! BAM I'M SOMEWHERE ELSE. Not to give out the negative vibes here, but c'mon!
Look, don't get me wrong -- this looks a lot like my Cybertron. Put in a few more fire pits and that's pretty much home. But seriously? After all that smeltin' trouble and I'm somewhere else.
Psh, I guess that's just the way it goes. Maaaaan!
*Third Person Sample:
Don't get Soundwave wrong. He adores all of his adopted tapes. They're all colorful and unique and wonderful and so very irreplaceable to his ember. They're precious, they are his motivation to win the war, and they are, essentially, his kids. That's the way he looks at them.
So although he has nothing but pure love for his tapes, they can also be a little frustrating, because he's still learning how to properly raise them and be a good dad. Usually, he has to worry about Ravage and his excitable nature, and maybe Frenzy's regrettable temper, but today seems to be different. No, today he gets to confront Howlback's skittish nature.
Awesome.
He adores her; unlike Ravage, she's softer and much quieter. Howlback is one to appreciate sunbeams, curling up somewhere at his feet, and maybe off reading the books the human kids bring her.
"Howlback, c'mon! You can't stay up there all day, dudette."
Up in a tree, she clings to branches, peering at him from behind leaves. If it wasn't for her bright blue optics, he probably would miss her entirely.
Soundwave folds his arms. "Look, would y'at least talk t'me? I'm not budging until you do!" He pauses. "I'll, uh. I'll totally get Ravage to play that nyan cat thingy--"
"Just a bad dream," she finally admits.
Oh. Oh. Usually, he can pick up on that sort of thing, but to be honest, all he can remember about dreams a few hours ago had to do with Sunstorm and his artistic imagination, a painting idea, swirls of glorious colors. But he knows that Howlback often has more unfortunate dreams.
Soundwave's shoulders sink and he sees her scooting back in the branches guiltily. He shakes his head and he holds up his arms. "I'm sorry," he apologizes, voice warm. "C'mere, okay? Jus' you and me, we'll talk it out. I got you."
Hesitantly, as he coaxes her verbally, Howlback climbs down into his arms, curling up tightly as he holds her securely. Slowly, Soundwave sits down and hushes her.
"That's my girl. That's my brave girl," he assures her, lightly rubbing his thumb over an ear. "Now, you tell me all you wanna say. I'm here for ya."

Character Information
Character Name: Soundwave
Fandom: Transformers
Timeline: Shattered Glass
Source: DUUUUUUUUUUDE.
Character History: Soundwave is one righteous dude, albeit unusually mysterious in his background. Not a whole lot is known about his history, and yet he's the sort of bot in which he's so damned friendly that you just know who he is anyway, not much else matters. His reasons for joining Megatron and his heroic band of Decepticons aren't quite known, but in his perspective, you'd be kind of a moron to NOT join him! Who wants to follow a totally bogus dude like Optimus Prime, anyway?
Although recently he's personally suffered the loss of one of his Cassetticons, Rumble, he still keeps a very upbeat attitude. Faithfully, he joined in the battle against Optimus Prime and his wicked Autobots with the help of the unusually nice Cliffjumper, stopping the launch of the Ark. The Decepticons then moved on to plan to launch from Cybertron as well in order to continue stopping the Autobots, but unfortunately, they ended up leaving behind Megatron. Bogus! Soundwave had been prepared to sacrifice himself to stay on their ship as it was ready to crash, but Cliffjumper insisted he escape. Soundwave took on the escape pods, and crash landed onto Earth, going into stasis -- a deep enough stasis that he didn't even realize his body had been propped up for an outdoor museum.
Fortunately, fellow Decepticon Heatwave found him and reactivated him. Soundwave scanned a nearby tour van for his alternative mode. After tying on a headband made from a nearby flag, he detonated his stasis pod; the two rolled out in search of other Decepticons, including what remained of his tapes.
Eventually, most of the Decepticons regrouped and befriended some humans on Earth, including Dr. Arkeville and his young assistants. They were quick to work together, agreeing that they needed to stop Rodimus Prime and his bad 'Bots from taking over Earth. Working together, they managed to temporarily defeat the Autobots, and settled down a bit to accept Earth as their home... for now. Through time, the Decepticons did many good deeds around the globe -- even to the point where Soundwave was knighted in a country, then known to be Sir Soundwave! Go figure.
As it turned out, Blitzwing later had an oPod (basically an iPod) installed into his systems. However, after one nasty tango with a stellar spanner (SG's version of a space bridge), the oPod would not stop playing. It grew in power to the point in which that it filled all available Cybertronian transmissions -- Autobot and Decepticon -- and became practically as a weapon, hurting both factions in the processor. In order to help Blitzwing and save themselves, Soundwave -- the only Decepticon who could properly filter the sound so that it was not agonizing to him -- was sent out to retrieve Blitzwing.
However, his enemy -- the evil Autobot Blaster -- was able to do similarly by filtering sound. Blaster intended to get his servos on Blitzwing in order to use his ability, whereas Soundwave did everything he could to attempt to rescue him. However, Elite Guard Thunderwing arrived suddenly to intervene -- to arrest Soundwave! Thunderwing bought Blaster's story that he was attempting to escort Blitzwing home and that Soundwave was intervening. Blaster got away and began to head towards the stellar spanner while Soundwave dealt with Thunderwing; as it turned out, Soundwave was charged with "piracy and indecency", after an incident in Soundwave's youth where he had accidentally broadcast a greeting over a military channel instead of a citizen's band and then cursed after realizing his mistake. After all of these centuries, Thunderwing hunted him down and intended to take him back to be tried.
Eventually, Soundwave convinced Thunderwing to wait on the arrest so Blitzwing could be rescued. Thunderwing agreed and tagged along merely to observe, as he was a "peace officer" not allowed to help with "war offenses".Shmuck.
The two eventually caught up with Blaster trying to send Blitzwing through the stellar spanner to Cybertron, but Thunderwing stayed back out of the fight and concentrated on his reports despite Soundwave's protests. He was finally convinced to intervene when Soundwave tricked Blaster into confessing that he was the culprit in the Altihex Protoform Rehabilitation Complex robberies. Crimes are bad, and Thunderwing had every intention of arresting the Autobot. Blaster was just barely able to dodge Thunderwing's neutralizer cannon blasts, and eventually leapt into the stellar spanner himself to escape, which malfunctioned and stranded him on the Moon. Served him right!
With the conflict over for the moment and the Decepticons back online, Thunderwing was all prepared to take Soundwave in for his crime -- unless he admitted to it. Exasperated, Soundwave confessed; his punishment was to perform 500 hours of community service at any Cybertronian outpost.
Fortunately, Earth counted, but Soundwave was none too happy about the circumstance.
Character Personality: Think of it. Think of the monotone, uncharismatic bore that constructs G1 Soundwave's basic personality. Think of his lack of emotion, his relentlessness for superiority, and conquest.

In summary, you'll never meet someone who is as charismatic and entertaining as this Soundwave.
Powers: Canon powers knowledge is admittedly scarce in Shattered Glass. What we do know is that Soundwave is capable of filtering sounds from his sensitive processor. Also, as a Decepticon, he is capable of transforming -- specifically into a van mode copied from a favorite band of his. He is perfect in sounds communication, interference, and hacking communications. Although he's a bit of a clown, he doesn't fail in radio waves, ever. He's also a totally righteous dancer!
Additionally, if he has anything else in common with the other incarnations and universes of the other Soundwaves, it is also tremendously likely that he is capable of interpreting electrical signals/brain patterns into readable data, therefore essentially reading minds. However, being the case that this is extremely invasive, this is not an ability Soundwave would employ often. In the previous time I had played at Axiom, he had only utilized the ability once -- and at an extreme price.

First person:
Oh, dude. You've gotta be totally kidding me here!
Like, okay. I'm SO into the whole idea that there's no war here, right? But I totally got busted for breakdancing in the street.
Where's the justice in that? B-O-G-U-S! I want a lawyer, dude!
Third Person: Despite his whining occasionally, the place really isn't so bad. True, true; Soundwave's got some stuff to do back in his own universe. Stopping Prime and those bogus Autobots is on the top of the 'To Do' list and all, but while they're stuck here, he sees no problem in indulging a bit. Sure, it blows to not be on the line, fighting alongside his buds and all, but it can't be helped until he and Starscream are sent back, right? So! Might as well chill out and hang in this place while they can enjoy it. No need for depression, seriously.
Primarily, he kind of just likes to sit and listen to this place. Things are so darned peaceful. Walking around Cybertron during daylight without having to fret about getting shot while exploring? Totally wouldn't happen back home! This is really just kind of perfect. Sure, paperwork is a pain in the skidplate, but honestly, it's not as bad as getting shot at.
It's kind of unlike him to sit and dwell like this. It isn't brooding; brooding isn't even part of his programming. Just thinking is all.
And he thinks that Rumble would definitely dig this place. Poor little guy. Seriously, how are Frenzy and the others doing without him...?
Ugh. Totally depressing to think about. He's gotta put that out of mind. Soundwave shakes his head and keeps on his way, stretching out his gears a bit before he leaves the peaceful crowd. If only it was like this back home. But in a way, it puts some extra hop into his ember; if this place can get some peace, then surely they can end the war somehow back in their own home universe!
His optics squint, hinting at a smile; he transforms and rolls out into the street.
"Dude -- do they got a theater or somethin' here? I would totally rock their world if they do."
Request: As I have played at this game before, I was wondering if it was at all possible to keep Soundwave's memories of his previous stay, or will he be a clean slate again?

Thunderwing agreed and tagged along merely to observe, as he was a "peace officer" not allowed to help with "war offenses".
Got it?
As such, he can be a bit protective of his friends -- which is saying a lot, since he's already immensely loyal to all of the Decepticons without question.
Samples
